Coach Dabo Swinney’s golf club creates its very own Clemson Tigers End Zone on the Clubhouse Lawn
Clemson fans, aka: #ClemsonFamily, also holds the #1 spot for being the most friendly and engaged fans (according to WalletHub.com).
For the third consecutive year, The Reserve at Lake Keowee – home golf club to the Tigers’ head football coach Dabo Swinney – have proved this to be true! The golf club is showing their support and celebrating the Tigers’ bid to the College Football Playoff by transforming the clubhouse Great Lawn into a piece of artwork.
For the last two years the actual Tiger paw stencil that is used at Memorial Stadium was used to create a miniature football field on the clubhouse lawn.
This year, The Reserve’s membership and staff decided to change things up a bit and create the Tigers’ end zone, with C-L-E-M-S-O-N spelled out across the lawn, again using the very same stencil that is used in Death Valley at Memorial Stadium.
Our Golf maintenance team has perfected the art of painting the great lawn, with over 72 hours of work, Chris Vincent, Bart Stephens, Denver Anthony, and Jeff Pankuch worked together to make this happen this year.
“Since our location is so close to the University, many of our members and staff are part of this Clemson Family that is so widely known across the nation.
With our strong connection to the University, we want to show our support; this is becoming sort of a tradition around here,” stated David Fleming, General Manager for The Reserve at Lake Keowee.”
Each year Coach Swinney holds his annual Football Media Day golf outing on The Reserve’s Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, which will also play host to the 3rd Annual Clemson Invitational on Lake Keowee on March 22 – 25, 2018, for participating women’s golf teams from across the country.
Be sure to watch the game as the No. 1 ranked Clemson Tigers take on the No. 4 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide on Monday, January 1, at 8:45 pm on ESPN in the 2017 Allstate Sugar Bowl CFP Semifinal Playoff Game.
