Enhancing the quality of life and sense of community of our members and the surrounding Upstate residents is the reason our Community Foundation was born.

The Foundation has four major functions serving both the property owners and surrounding communities:

1

Outreach

To assist charitable organizations and facilitate property owner volunteerism in Pickens County and surrounding communities.

2

Education

To provide educational and enrichment programs for Reserve property owners and the surrounding community.

3

Arts

To promote cultural initiatives for property owners and the surrounding community, with both visual and performing arts.

4

Environment

To promote environmental stewardship and provide a greater understanding and appreciation of the area's natural resources.

Charitable Foundation

In 2009, the Community Foundation’s Board of Trustees created The Reserve at Lake Keowee Charitable Foundation, a 501(c) 3 organization, to further enhance the mission of the Community Foundation and to provide an additional source of funding.

EIN No. 26-4539213

The Charitable Foundation accepts tax deductible donations, and has raised over $1.7 Million to-date to supplement the outreach component of the Community Foundation’s mission. In 2022, $304,000 in net funds were distributed to 16 local charities.  Also,  since 2018 over $80,000 has been distributed as education scholarship grants. The fundraising is done primarily through the Annual Charity Golf Classic tournament, other fundraising events and individual/corporate contributions. The Foundation also offers community events that support Arts, Education, and Environment, these events are separate from our fundraising events.
